Imam Hussain Holy Shrine prepares the black banner of grief to be hoisted atop the holy dome on the eve of Muharram 1

The Sewing and Embroidery Unit at Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced the completion of the black banner to be hoisted atop the holy dome on the eve of Muharram 1, 1441 AH. 

The Sewing and Embroidery Unit at Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced the completion of the black banner to be hoisted atop the holy dome on the eve of Muharram 1, 1441 AH. 

Head of the Unit Mahmoud Ali stated, “The black banner of grief has been sewn and is prepared to be hoisted atop the holy dome of Imam Hussain during the annual Muharram 1 Ceremony.”

“The banner is embroidered with silk threads and measures a length of 3.9 meters and a width of 3 meters.”

Ali mentioned that the Unit also sews many others banners including narrations and slogans related to the event of Ashura to be hanged inside and outside the Holy Shrine during the months of Muharram and Safar.
