Sayyeda Zainab Holy Shrine reopens to pilgrims

After a temporary closure of more than two months, the Holy Shrine of Sayyeda Zainab in the Syrian capital of Damascus has been reopened to pilgrims.

The outbreak of coronavirus and the imposed curfew by the Syrian government on many cities, including Sayyeda Zainab District led to the temporary closure of the Holy Shrine.

Holy shrines in the Syrian Arab Republic were temporarily closed on March 6, based on what was approved by the government as the strategy to counter the pandemic.
