According to London-based Amnesty International, Saudi Arabia has one the world’s highest execution rates. The group attributes 79 executions to the Kingdom in 2013 and 2012, and 82 in 2011 and 2010, and at least 69 executions in 2009.

Rape, murder, armed robbery, and drug trafficking are all punishable by death under the Saudi rule.

Saudi Arabia carries out capital punishment mostly by beheading.
