Shia protesters held demonstrations in Sindh, Pakistan in many areas to protest against the death of three Shia pilgrims in Taftan border town due to lack of essential facilities.

Led by Maulana Mujahid Hussaini and Ameer Ali Hyderi, protesters staged a rally from Markazi Imam Bargah Mehar to Press Club Mehar.

Addressing the rally at Ghanta Ghar Chowk, they demanded of the government to ensure that pilgrims should face no problem of any sort during their travel for pilgrimage. They said that Shia pilgrims qualify for facilities like other pilgrims and it was obligatory on the government to provide them facilities throughout Pakistan, let alone Taftan border town.

They warned that protest would be expanded to rest of the country if the government failed to end restrictions on pilgrims and deny them their right of safe and respectful travel for sacred pilgrimage.
