Quranic book reading competition held in Afghanistan

The third book reading competition titled ‘Quran, Book of Life’ was held in Herat, Afghanistan.

According to avapress.com, the Al-Zahra (SA) Youths Group organized the competition on March 8 at the city’s Ayatollah Mohaqiq Kaboli Mosque.

Seyyed Kadhim Mousavi, head of the group and director of Thaqalayn Quranic Complex said that the main objective of the competition was to promote the culture of book reading and disseminate Quranic teachings in the society.

It was held with the participation of 1500 teenagers and youths, 40 percent of whom were women.

Mohammad Taqi Aliyar, a participant at the competition said that reading books, particularly Quranic works, is very effective in living a better life based on the teachings of the Quran.
