‘Quran, Global Message of Peace’ Theme of Quran Contest in Ghana

An Islamic NGO operating in less endowed communities in Ghana organized the 2019 edition of its annual Quranic recitation competition in the Northern Regional capital of Tamale. 

 

 

An Islamic NGO operating in less endowed communities in Ghana organized the 2019 edition of its annual Quranic recitation competition in the Northern Regional capital of Tamale. 

The Light Foundation held the contest with the theme of “The Quran, a Global Message of Peace”.

It was attended by scores of Muslims from the Northern Region, Upper East Region, North East Region and Ashanti Regions. The ceremony also saw the attendance of prominent and notable Sheikhs from Tamale, representatives of the Northern Regional Ghana Muslim Students Association of Ghana, Tamale College of Education Chapter and other well-meaning Muslims.

Winners of the various categories went home with certificates, copies of the Holy Quran and cash sums of between 200 cedis to 1200 cedis.

The Light foundation has over the years been engaging communities that are less endowed across all regions of the country
