Saudi Arabia facilitating the return of 450,000 pilgrims stranded due to coronavirus restrictions

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that it is able to facilitate the return of 450,000 pilgrims to their countries, as it has facilitated the departure of more than 60,000 pilgrims during the last 5 days, since the suspension of flights in the Kingdom.

The Ministry indicated that it was able to assist in the departure of more than 1500 pilgrims who were stranded in the Kingdom due to the suspension of flights since last April in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health and Interior.

It added that it transported 40 thousand pilgrims from Medina to Mecca to end their rituals, and hosted another two thousand pilgrims who could not leave due to the suspension of flights.
