A Christian delegation coming from Washington, D.C. has visited on Tuesday the Supreme Religious Authorities in the holy city of Najaf.

The delegation included a group of Catholic and Anglican bishops led by the Cardinal of the Catholic Church, Theodore McCarrick, and the Archbishop of the Anglican Church, John Bryson Chane. Three of the four religious authorities were visited: Grand Ayatollah Ishaq al-Fayadh, Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Saeed al-Hakim, and Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir al-Najafi.

His Eminence Sheikh Fayadhnoted during his meeting with the delegation that Islam is not a religion that teaches or promotes hatred, murder or any type of terrorism, what we see today is far from the pure image of this peaceful religion.
