Chinese activists have circulated videos that caused a lot of disquiet because of their showing that the local authorities in east China’s Jiangxi Province were carrying out a large digging campaign on public graves in protest against not burning the dead bodies.

The activists revealed that the graves, most of which belong to Muslim citizens, as Muslims bury their dead in the dust.

Chinese activists said that the government was calling for a halt to traditional burial and urged people to burn dead bodies.

The videos showed members of the police picking up and confiscating the coffins of hundreds of bodies, amid the shouts and interceptions of dead ones’ families.
